Canada to Key West Paddle – Day 57

When I began this journey, my goal was to find Life after Death; specifically, my life after Lexie’s death. I needed to find out who I was. Where was the happiness I had with Lexie and where was I going. I needed to be able to be happy again. I turned to the one element that always brought me peace – Water. I set my sights on Key West for Key West was the farthest south I could go by kayak.

Canada to Key West Paddle – Day 46

She remembered the older pictures very well, but the more recent ones, that is, those in the 80’s and 90’s weren’t sparking any memory, though she did recognize the pictures and the people, she had not connection to them or why they would be there. For instance, I had a picture of her and her brother (now deceased) at her father’s funeral. She recognized her brother and the location, but didn’t know her Dad had passed.

Canada to Key West Paddle – Day 30

Walking through the front door, I was immediately impressed. This little place was jam packed with high quality gear. From Paddle Boards and Kayaks, to accessories for both, camping, hiking and I am sure a whole lot more. There on the tiny little counter lay my items, held aside just like they said they would do.

Canada to Key West Paddle – Day 15

I arrived amid a sea of Motor Yachts in all shapes and sizes. I’ve never seen so many boats packed in so tightly in a Marina. This looked like a major party – and it was. I found a spot to tie off and I climbed up on the docks. I hadn’t been on the dock a minute when I met Katie’s Dad. Like me, he was surprised at how quickly I made it here, but running with the tied helped a lot.

Ride the Catskills

Lexie has loved to ride since the first time I put her on a bike at 3 yrs old and there is no better way to celebrate than to do what she loves to do. So I took Lexie, her Mommy Arlene and I we went riding through the Catskills of New York. Our destination was simple. I wanted to get a picture at the Big Indian sign

Friday Harbor, WA

We pulled into Friday Harbor and I saw my friend Steven K. Roberts boat right away. SV Nomadness was docked right next to the ferry, but being greeted by the “friendly” US Customs Agent was another story. I actually expected entry back into the US to be problem free. After all, I’m a US Citizen and I have my paperwork and I just left the US yesterday.
