Pet Sitting / House Sitting

Hi,
My name is Larry Jensen, and I’m a Professional Pet Sitter, House Sitter and Handyman.

Prior to 2013, I owned a Real Estate Brokerage and Property Management company in New York and Connecticut, as well as a Construction company in New York and a Manufacturing business for motorcycle parts sold Internationally. I sold my businesses with a plan to set out sailing the world, but life had other plans for me.

In December of 2015, I lost my Yorkshire Terrier, Lexie, to a grueling ten month battle with Mast Cell Cancer. Lexie was my soulmate – you can read more about her here: You’re Really Gone

After losing her, I too was lost, lost and now alone. I set out on a journey to find myself by attempting to kayak from Canada to Key West, FL.

Along the way, a  generous friend offered me their home in the Florida Keys to stay for as long as I needed. Paradise, right? Not for me, I couldn’t find happiness with Lexie missing from my life. Then one day my neighbor there needed to go away for a few days and I volunteered to watch her two dogs. I was looking for something to do and my love of our four legged fur balls had not diminished. I was happy to have the opportunity to interact with them.

While caring for them, it occurred to me, for the first time in a while, I was happy. I couldn’t bring myself to get another dog as you don’t get to replace Lexie, but I had a lot of love to give and I’d been training and caring for dogs of all types and sizes my whole life. I’ve rescued  and rehabilitated a baby bunny as well as a Monarch Butterfly who’s wing was damaged. I began searching for others who needed pet sitting. I didn’t know it then, but that was the start of a new begining for me. With my intimate experiences in critical cancer care for Lexie, years of training experience and love of animals, I had found my next calling. That one month in the Florida Keys changed my life and gave me a new begining. By February, I was well on my way in this new journey.

Cleaning – Cleansing – Sanitizing It’s something on everyone’s mind these days, but how many are cleansing their body, mind and their  environment – of stuff? I seem to have become a pro at decluttering. I literally carry everything I own on me and everything I own must serve more than one purpose. So recently,... […]
  • The only constant in life is change March 1, 2020

  • New York to Washington State – One Year Later December 4, 2019
I readily admit that I enjoy Facebook Memories. Looking back at where I was one, two, even eight years ago on a specific day reminds me of how far I have come. How fast life moves and how easy it is to forget where you were and as my Fifty-fifth birthday approaches rapidly, there is... […]
  • Looking back to Today November 3, 2019
As much as we think life is linear, it is not. Life is a bunch of circles. Now if you make a perfect circle, you just keep going around and around on the same path, but some of us make more elliptical circles and we end up on different paths that occasionally cross old paths.... […]
