Worked like a charm. We jumped on I-95 and made a beeline for the New Hampshire Border. Shortly after crossing the New Hampshire Border, we crossed into Maine as all three states are within minutes of each other here. Once we hit Maine, I jumped off the Interstate and headed for the coast.

A cute little place right on the coast line only separated from it by the road we were on. I guess they were getting some strong surf as a lot of seaweed had been washed up onto the road. We stopped for a photo of me running into the surf…yes again! I simply can not help myself by the ocean. Give me sand and surf and I MUST go in! The locals that were there were laughing at me though so that was fun. I like to make people laugh.

A beautiful little village on the coastline and more recently made famous by Former President Bush as he bought a home out here. Funny thing is that the home is visible from all sides. 3 of which are on the shore and the 4 side would be visible from the water. Not sure if they still own it or use it, but the former Sentry Gate is now defunct and the security around it is no more. I took the opportunity to stop and take some pictures regardless of the signs telling me otherwise. In fact, I was ignoring a number of ordaninces at the same time. Once sign said No BUS or RV parking (I’m both a Bus and an RV) and the other said no stopping against traffic and I did just that. 😀

Yeah right. I just happened to find a gift shop, sale or not. 😀 But in there I found my stickers for Sandy and one I found very funny. It said “Life Was Good” When I asked the owner what it meant, he made up a story. This is what he said. “It was a printing error. It was supposed to say – Life Was Good at Kennebunkport” I laughed because I knew exactly what it meant. It was 100% a Political Statement regarding the former President Bush’s Administration. I guess though I would not get it or would be offended, silly man.
From here it was time to head up north to our camp spot for the night. This one would be a unique spot too as I was staying on the property of a house being torn down. No one would be around and I’m on a lake. When we pulled in, I had trouble finding it because it was dark. Once we spoke to the neighbors I got myself situated and set up. Then it was time to feed Lexie and make some dinner. Dinner tonight was courtesy of John and Sue from Narraganset RI. They had given me some steak, chicken, corn and salad which was left over from my stay there. I heated it up on the stove and it was as delicious as before. This is the last night on the road. Tomorrow night we will arrive in Vermont and that will bring to a close the chapter on Picking up Sandy, though I am planning a Key West trip here real soon as well as a little kayaking on the lake before she freezes over. Stay with us!
